We supported a national security policing body in the development of a digital learning product to help UK businesses to practice their readiness for security incidents.
The Accelerated Capability Environment is a unit within the Homeland Security Group tackling public safety and security challenges arising from evolving digital and data technology.
They commissioned us to support NaCTSO, a police hosted unit that supports the government’s counter terrorism strategy to develop a digital learning and testing product. The objective being to help UK businesses to practise their readiness for security incidents.
They asked us to run design and run a collaborative showcase & workshop to understand the technology vendor landscape, align on product use-cases as well as define an innovation roadmap.
The approach adopted was needs-led, starting with a scoping workshop to deep-dive and align on 3 key questions: What does the product need to achieve? For whom should this product be developed for? What are the barriers or incentives for usage? Aligning on key product needs helped build a clear picture of the product use cases and NaCTSO’s selection criteria for technology vendors
We engaged and selected a range of market-leading technology vendors to showcase their solutions. The demonstrations provided inspiration, ideas and practical considerations, supporting NaCTSO staff to connect and critically assess the capabilities, level of fidelity and real-world application of different solutions to meet their product needs.
NaCTSO is currently having ongoing discussions with one of the vendors selected.
Once aligned on product needs and having explored the art of the possible through the showcase, we collaboratively developed a 3-stage strategic roadmap to support and structure specific goals and success metrics for the next stages of product development.
